Flokk Australia

Chair Dinkum is the exclusive Australian distributor for the Flokk group. That covers all eleven Flokk brands — HÅG, RH, Giroflex, Profim, Offecct, Connection, 9to5 Seating, VIA Seating, Stylex, Spec and Malmstolen — and it means Flokk product for the Australian market now comes through us. We sell direct to consumers, government and business, and we are also the wholesale channel other Australian retailers and dealers buy Flokk product from.

In practical terms, that changes three things: warranty claims on Flokk-brand product are assessed and handled here in Sydney rather than routed offshore, spare parts and environmental documentation come from us rather than through a chain of intermediaries, and the full Flokk catalogue is available to specify in Australia rather than only the models a dealer happened to carry.

What we hold, and what we order in

We would rather be straight about this than imply a warehouse we do not have. In stock in Sydney right now:

• RH Secur24, RH New Logic 220, RH Mereo 220 and RH Mereo 300.

Everything else across the eleven brands is available to order. That is a real option rather than a brush-off — as distributor we can quote, specify and supply any Flokk product for an Australian project — but it is an order, with a lead time, not something sitting on a shelf in Pyrmont. Ask us for the current lead time before you plan around a date.

Three of the order-in brands now have their own project and specification pages, with published dimensions, certifications and warranty terms: Giroflex Australia, Offecct Australia and Profim Australia. These brands are specified and quoted per project rather than sold through the webshop.

What Flokk is

Flokk is the Norwegian furniture group that consolidated much of European contract seating into a single house of brands. It is headquartered in Oslo, and its oldest manufacturing site, at Røros in central Norway, has been building chairs since 1943. Flokk describes its brands as carrying over 400 years of combined experience in designing and manufacturing furniture, with roots reaching back to Giroflex in 1872.

The group grew largely by acquisition — Offecct in 2017, Profim in 2018, 9to5 Seating in 2019, Connection in 2022, Stylex in 2024, VIA Seating in February 2025, Spec in April 2026 — and Flokk states that a deliberate aspiration of its strategy is "avoiding overlaps between our brands, in heritage, product identities and segments." So the brands are not badge-engineered versions of each other. They occupy different segments, price points and markets.

Understanding the group matters to a buyer for a practical reason rather than a sentimental one: warranty, spare parts supply and environmental documentation all come from the group rather than from the individual brand. That is why a HÅG Capisco and an RH New Logic sit under the same warranty structure, and why a gas lift or a set of castors can still be sourced for a chair that has been in service for a decade.

The eleven Flokk brands

HÅG

Norwegian, established 1943, and the brand most Australians meet Flokk through. Flokk's positioning for it is movement: "Inspired by the movement of the human body, HÅG intuitively merges design and balanced sitting." In practice that means chairs built around the idea that the healthiest sitting position is the next one, using HÅG's inBalance movement rather than locking you into one supposedly correct posture. The Capisco, designed by Peter Opsvik in 1984, is the famous one; the Tion range is the conventional task chair. HÅG is also where Flokk's environmental documentation is most useful — recycled content is published per model, and the Tion 2100 shell is 94 per cent recycled plastic. Browse the HÅG range.

RH

Swedish, founded in 1977 in Bodafors by Rolf Holstensson, whose initials give the brand its name. Flokk's line is "Designed for human performance" — RH's territory is upright working postures and demanding seating: long hours, multi-shift sites and control rooms that never close. The range here runs from everyday task chairs up to the Secur24, one of the RH chairs approved for control-room 24/7 use. RH absorbed the Dutch 24/7 specialist BMA Ergonomics on 1 January 2025, which is why the chair many buyers still search for as the BMA Secur24 is now the RH Secur24. Browse the RH range.

Giroflex

The oldest name in the group, tracing its origins to 1872. Flokk describes Giroflex as "a manufacturer of high quality, ergonomic seating for workplaces, offices and home offices around the world," with the brand's own line being "Sitting properly. Living better." The range covers office chairs, meeting chairs, stackable chairs and tables, including a 24/7 performance line, and it reaches into education, healthcare and home-office segments. Profim

Polish, established 1991, and part of Flokk since 2018 — the acquisition that expanded the group's presence in Central Europe. Flokk positions Profim as "a universal approach to the workspace, providing beautiful and functional furniture for every budget," which is the honest description: it is the volume brand, covering task chairs, meeting and stackable chairs, soft seating, tables and screens. For a fit-out where the budget has to stretch across a whole floor rather than a handful of chairs, this is usually the brand that does it. Offecct

Swedish, founded 1990, and part of Flokk since 2017, where it broadened the group's design capabilities. Offecct's own framing is "furniture with a mission" — design-led soft seating, acoustic solutions, easy chairs, meeting chairs and tables, developed with outside architects and designers, and specified into workplaces, hotels, restaurants, airports and public spaces as much as offices. This is the brand you reach for when the furniture has to do acoustic and spatial work, not just seating. Connection

British, established in Huddersfield in 1997 and part of Flokk since 2022, strengthening the group's position in the UK. Flokk describes Connection as its specialist in "furniture that compliments and interacts with architecture through soft separations," making "innovative furniture products that bring people together to connect, collaborate, create, learn and have a positive impact on the workplace." The range is organised as Modular Landscapes, Spatial Soft Seating and Furnitecture — reconfigurable systems and partitioning that give visual and acoustic privacy without building walls. 9to5 Seating

A seating manufacturer that has been part of Flokk since 2019, where it gave the group a direct platform in the US. Flokk publishes little detail about the brand beyond that, so we will not invent any — if 9to5 is on your specification, contact us and we will get the current model, specification and lead-time detail directly from Flokk. VIA Seating

A commercial seating brand, part of the group since February 2025. VIA describes itself as making "high-performance seating solutions that support both people and the planet — prioritizing wellness, durability and the long-term health" of the environment, with sustainability "integrated into every aspect of our products, partnerships and business strategies." The range is broad: task, conference and executive chairs, lounge, stacking and nesting chairs, stools, and outdoor seating, with lines aimed at corporate, healthcare, education, public sector and biotech settings. Stylex

A US brand with showrooms in Chicago and New York, part of Flokk since 2024, where it expanded the group's US presence. Stylex describes itself as focusing "its efforts on the modern office environment with careful consideration given to balancing aesthetics, value, ergonomics, and green technology." The range leans towards lounge, guest, conference and multi-use seating alongside tables, screens and accessories, rather than ergonomic task chairs. Available to order.

Spec

The newest brand in the group, joining Flokk in April 2026 and strengthening its position in Canada. Spec's own line is "Design Without Limits," and the range covers contract seating and workplace furniture. Flokk has published little about the brand since the acquisition, so we are not going to pad this out — ask us and we will confirm the current range and lead times with Flokk directly. Malmstolen

Swedish, based in Mölndal, and part of Flokk since 2016. Malmstolen designs and manufactures seating for the modern office, in both workplace and home-office settings, and its range is organised around three series: Individual, for one person sitting for long periods; Focus, a flexible chair for multiple users and long-term use; and Active, a self-adjusting chair for shared use over medium-length sittings. A specialist ergonomic brand rather than a broad furniture range. Available to order.

What the distributorship means for you

If you are buying one chair

You are buying from the Australian distributor, so there is no intermediary between you and the group on a warranty claim — see below. You can sit in the stocked HÅG and RH ranges in Pyrmont before committing, which matters more than usual with a Capisco. And because the full catalogue is now available to specify, if the chair that actually suits you is a Giroflex or a Malmstolen rather than a HÅG, we can order it instead of talking you into what is on the floor. If you are specifying, or buying for government

Chair Dinkum has traded since 2014 and is on the buy.nsw supplier panel. Two things the distributorship makes easier for a submission. First, documentation: Flokk publishes recycled-content figures and Environmental Product Declarations per model rather than making general environmental claims about the brand, and per-model documentation is what green-building and government submissions actually require. We can supply it for any Flokk model on request. Second, the warranty terms below are the real ones, including the hours-per-day conditions that usually get left out of a tender response — put those in your evaluation matrix rather than the headline number. The Flokk warranty structure

The two brands we hold are warranted on different terms, and the hours-per-day condition is the part most often omitted when a headline figure gets quoted.

• HÅG — 10 years in normal use at up to 9 hours per day, for users up to 110 kg. Beyond 9 hours per day the term is 5 years. Fabrics and leather are covered for 5 years either way.
• RH — 10 years in normal use at up to 9 hours per day, for users up to 150 kg. Separately, Flokk provides a 5 year warranty for RH chairs that are approved for control room 24/7 use — the Secur24 is one of them. Upholstery is not covered under those terms unless it is an RH approved 24/7 fabric.
• Profim — "Profim provides a 5-year warranty for products used 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (single shift operation)." See Profim Australia.
• Offecct — five years from the delivery date for material and construction faults, with exclusions for wear, tear and damage on lacquered parts, glides and felt glides, and moved Soundwave Velcro. See Offecct Australia.

Read the two RH terms together rather than treating 10 as the better number: a 5 year term written for round-the-clock duty and a 10 year term that steps down past 9 hours per day are not measuring the same thing. If you are specifying for a rotating roster, the hours clause is the one that decides your actual cover.

As Australian distributor, we assess and handle Flokk-brand warranty claims here in Sydney rather than routing them offshore. You deal with us, on Australian time, and we deal with Flokk. Terms for the other Flokk brands follow the group structure; ask us to confirm the current term for a specific model in writing before you order and we will obtain it.

Any manufacturer warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Those guarantees cannot be excluded, and as the supplier we are responsible for meeting them. Full terms for every brand we carry are set out on our warranty page.

The design idea the seating brands share

Flokk's seating brands are built on the position that no single posture stays correct for long, and that a chair should keep responding to you rather than holding you still. HÅG calls this inBalance; the Capisco takes it furthest by letting you sit forwards, backwards, astride or perched on the same seat.
