Office pods and phone booths give people a closed space inside an open-plan office: a single-person booth for calls, video meetings and focused work, or a larger meeting pod for a small group. Each one arrives as a complete unit with its own door, lighting, ventilation and power.
The range below currently includes single-person booths and a meeting pod for up to four people. Choosing the right office pod
Start with what the space is for, then how many people will use it at once.
- Phone booth. A single-person booth for calls that would otherwise happen at a desk. The smallest footprint in the range.
- Focus pod. A single-person booth with more room to work, suited to longer stretches of concentrated work.
- Video-call pod. Any single-person booth used mainly for video calls. Check the lighting modes and the work surface as well as the acoustics.
- Meeting pod. A larger unit for two to four people, used for small meetings and hybrid calls without booking a meeting room.
Acoustic privacy
No pod is completely soundproof. What a well-made pod provides is speech privacy: conversation inside is much harder to understand from outside, and outside noise is reduced for the person inside. The standard for measuring this on an assembled pod is ISO 23351-1, which reports speech level reduction as DS,A in decibels and groups the results into classes.
Performance varies by model and manufacturer. Framery publishes a Class A result of 30 DS,A dB under ISO 23351-1 for each pod in the current range. When you compare brands, ask for the ISO 23351-1 result and class. A bare decibel figure with no standard named is usually a laboratory measurement of a single panel and is not comparable. Dimensions and weights are Framery's published specifications. *Framery Four weight varies by layout: 460 kg (Base) to 560 kg (Accessible). Allow clear space in front of the door as well as the pod itself.
Power and ventilation
Every pod needs a power supply, and a closed space needs mechanical ventilation, so compare airflow in litres per second rather than descriptions. For the current range, Framery publishes a maximum airflow of 36 L/s for the One Compact and 100 L/s for the Four, and a default airflow of 26 L/s for the One. Default power consumption is 27 W (One Compact), 28 W (One) and 52 W (Four), on a 100–240 VAC input.
When you plan a position, check where the nearest power outlet is and how the cable will reach the pod.
Installation and workplace planning
Pods are assembled on site, so plan the delivery route as carefully as the final position: lift size and load, door widths, corridor turns and the floor the pod will stand on. Place booths where people can reach them quickly from their desks, and keep the door's swing and the approach clear.

What is an office phone booth?

What is the difference between an office pod and a phone booth?
The terms overlap. "Phone booth" usually means a single-person unit for calls. "Office pod" covers single-person booths and larger meeting pods for small groups.
Are office pods soundproof?
No pod is completely soundproof. Pods provide speech privacy, measured under ISO 23351-1 as speech level reduction. The current Framery range is rated Class A, 30 DS,A dB.
Do office pods need power?
Yes. The lighting, ventilation and any charging outlets run from mains power, so each pod needs a power supply near its position.
What size office pod do I need?
Size it by the number of people who will use it at once. A single-person booth needs a little over one square metre of floor. A four-person meeting pod such as the Framery Four needs about three square metres.
Can office pods be moved?
Yes, but a move should follow the manufacturer's instructions. Framery's warranty does not cover pods moved or dismantled against its instructions.
