Chair Dinkum is the exclusive Australian distributor for the Flokk group, and Giroflex is one of the brands that covers. Giroflex is not sold through this webshop. It is specified and quoted per project: send us a floor plan, a headcount and your program dates, and we come back with a specification, pricing and a lead time.
We would rather say that plainly than imply a warehouse we do not have. We hold HÅG and RH stock in Sydney and you can sit in those this week. Giroflex is ordered in against a project, so ask us for the current lead time before you plan around a handover date.
What Giroflex is
Giroflex is the oldest name in the Flokk group and the Swiss one. Flokk dates the brand's origins to 1872; Giroflex's own published history puts the first factory a year earlier, recording that “In 1871, Albert Stoll I, (1836-1897) and partner Max Klock sets up the ‘Stoll & Klock’ chair factory located in Waldshut.” Albert Stoll II patented the Spring Swivel in 1926, described by the company as the first swivel chair with a suspension system. The Giroflex name itself arrived in 1948 and means, in the company's own gloss, to turn and flex. Giroflex became an independent brand within the Flokk group in July 2017, and research and development remains in Koblenz, Switzerland.
The brand's own line is “Sitting properly. Living better”, and Flokk describes it as a manufacturer of high quality ergonomic seating for workplaces, offices and home offices. In practice Giroflex is the group's precision-engineering brand: task seating built around a synchro-motion mechanism, with a documented specification behind every model. It is the brand to reach for when the specification matters more than the badge.
Who Giroflex suits
Giroflex sits between the volume brands and the specialist ergonomic ranges. It suits a floor where you want one well-engineered task chair specified consistently across a hundred desks, with published environmental data to put in a submission. It also covers the harder end: the giroflex 64 family includes dedicated 24-hour variants for multi-shift and control-room duty, which is not something every task-chair range offers.

The Swiss classic, designed by Paolo Fancelli, on a patented synchro-motion mechanism. The widest family in the range, and the one that includes the 24-hour variants.

Open-plan task chair with a full Environmental Product Declaration published against it, which makes it the easiest model in the range to document for a green-building or government submission.

Also by Paolo Fancelli. Mesh or upholstered backrest, swivel, cantilever or four-leg bases, so a meeting room and the desks either side of it can be specified as one family.

giroflex 40
The giroflex 40 carries a full Environmental Product Declaration, NEPD-3468-2072-EN, valid from 26 April 2022 to 26 April 2027 and issued under ISO 14025, ISO 21930 and EN 15804 through the Norwegian EPD Foundation. Against a declared unit of one chair with a five-year reference service life, it declares 80.16 kg CO²-eq for cradle-to-gate stages A1 to A3, total recycled content of 32.17 per cent, aluminium at 97.54 per cent recycled and steel at 13.69 per cent recycled, on a 17.5 kg chair. Seat height loaded is 375–515 mm. Production is at Flokk's Turek plant in Poland.
One number we will not give you. Both the 313 and 64 documents state an automatic weight adaption range of 45–120 kg. That is the range over which the mechanism self-tensions to the sitter. It is not a maximum user weight, and Flokk does not publish a maximum user weight for these Giroflex models. If your tender asks for one, tell us and we will put the question to Flokk in writing rather than guess at it.
Warranty
Flokk publishes its warranty terms per brand and, in some cases, per model, and the hours-per-day condition is the part that usually gets dropped when a headline figure is quoted. For comparison, the group's HÅG wording is that Flokk provides a ten-year guarantee against production defects on all HÅG office chairs that are in normal use for up to 9 hours per day.
None of the Giroflex factsheets we hold state a warranty term on their face. We are not going to assume the HÅG wording carries across, because within this same group Profim and Offecct both publish five-year terms on different conditions. Ask us for the Giroflex term for the specific model you are specifying and we will obtain it from Flokk in writing before you order. As Australian distributor we assess and handle Flokk-brand warranty claims here in Sydney rather than routing them offshore. Builders and fit-out contractors
Giroflex is an order against your program, not stock. Give us your handover date early and we will tell you honestly whether the lead time fits it, or propose a stocked HÅG or RH alternative that does. Delivery can be staged to match site access.
Corporate and office managers

Chair Dinkum has traded since 2014 and is a registered supplier on the NSW Government buy.nsw supplier panel. Flokk publishes EPDs and recycled content per model rather than as a general brand claim, which is what an evaluation panel actually needs.

The Giroflex documents mention 45 to 120 kg. Is that a maximum user weight?
No. That is the range over which the automatic weight adaption mechanism self-tensions to the sitter. It is not a maximum user weight, and Flokk does not publish a maximum user weight for these Giroflex models. If your tender asks for one we will put the question to Flokk in writing rather than guess at it.
