Chair Dinkum is the exclusive Australian distributor for the Flokk group, and Profim is one of the brands that covers. Profim is not sold through this webshop. It is specified and quoted per project: send us a floor plan, a headcount and your program dates, and we come back with a specification, pricing and a lead time.

We would rather say that plainly than imply a warehouse we do not have. We hold HÅG and RH task seating in Sydney, and we stock the Profim coat stand. The seating, soft seating, tables and screens are ordered in against a project, so ask us for the current lead time before you plan around a handover date.

What Profim is

Profim is the Polish brand in the Flokk group, established in 1991 by Ryszard Rychlik, Andrzej Opłatek and Bogdan Kaczmarek during Poland's economic transition, and part of Flokk since 2018. Manufacturing is at Turek, in central-western Poland — the address on the Environmental Product Declarations is Flokk, ul. Górnicza 8, 62-700 Turek.

Flokk's own positioning for Profim is “a universal approach to the workspace, providing beautiful and functional furniture for every budget”, and the brand describes its aim as affordable and technologically advanced furniture built on circular design principles. That is the honest description: within a group that deliberately avoids overlap between its brands, Profim is the volume brand. It is the one that covers a whole floor rather than a handful of chairs.

Who Profim suits

Profim is the answer to the most common problem in a commercial fit-out, which is that the budget has to stretch across every seat in the building and not just the good ones. The range runs from task chairs through meeting and stackable seating to soft modular seating, tables and screens, so a floor can be specified out of one brand with one warranty structure and one spare-parts channel.

It is also the brand where the sustainability documentation is stronger than the price point would suggest. Profim products hold EU Ecolabel licences — the Revo B120 upholstered in STEP fabric is registered under licence PL/049/001, held by Flokk in Poland — along with Möbelfakta certification, GREENGUARD Gold and per-product EPDs. On a tender scored partly on environmental criteria, that combination is unusual at this end of the market.

Eminent and u-Connect tables

Both are tested in accordance with EN 15372, and u-Connect is additionally Möbelfakta certified. Eminent tops are laminate or linoleum at 24 mm, or melamine beech at 22 mm, on tubular legs of 38 mm diameter with levelling feet adjusting up to 17 mm on all legs; the published range runs from 800 by 800 mm through to 1800 by 800 mm, plus round and trapezium models. u-Connect is a folding, nesting table on 65 mm soft castors with brakes and polished aluminium legs, published from 1200 by 600 mm to 1800 by 800 mm, with tops that collapse and stack side by side for storage.

Warranty

Profim publishes its own term, and it is not the HÅG one. It appears identically on every Profim factsheet we have read: “Profim provides a 5-year warranty for products used 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (single shift operation).”

Read the hours condition rather than the headline number. Five years at single-shift use is a different thing from a ten-year term written at up to nine hours a day, and it is a very different thing from a chair approved for round-the-clock duty. If you are specifying for a rotating roster or a control room, Profim is not the brand for those positions — look at the 24/7 range instead, and mix the specification rather than buying one chair for every seat. Getting that mix wrong is the most expensive mistake we see on a floor.

What seat height range does the Profim Xenon Net have?

450 to 580 mm on the S, SL and SFL mechanisms, and 430 to 560 mm on the ST and STL. The brochure also gives 400 to 530 mm measured to the PN EN 1335-1 method with seat burden, which is why two different figures can both be correct for the same chair.

Does Profim hold an EU Ecolabel?

Yes. The Revo B120 upholstered in STEP fabric is registered under EU Ecolabel licence PL/049/001, held by Flokk in Poland. Profim products also carry Möbelfakta certification, GREENGUARD Gold and per-product Environmental Product Declarations.

Does Profim publish a maximum user weight?

No. None of the Profim documents we hold state a maximum user weight, and Flokk generally does not publish one. The Xenon Net ST mechanism adjusts backrest resilience to the sitter's weight, but that is a tension adjustment, not a rated limit. If your tender requires a stated maximum user weight we will put the question to Flokk in writing rather than guess at it.

What does Profim make besides chairs?

Tables, screens and soft modular seating. The Eminent and u-Connect tables are both tested in accordance with EN 15372, and u-Connect is additionally Möbelfakta certified. Revo is the modular soft seating family.

Can Profim be supplied on a NSW government contract?

Yes. Chair Dinkum has traded since 2014 and is a registered supplier on the NSW Government buy.nsw supplier panel. As exclusive Australian distributor for the Flokk group we can quote Profim directly and supply the per-model environmental and test documentation a submission needs.
