Chair Dinkum is the exclusive Australian distributor for the Flokk group, and Offecct is one of the brands that covers. Offecct is not sold through this webshop. It is specified and quoted per project: send us a floor plan, a headcount and your program dates, and we come back with a specification, pricing and a lead time.

We would rather say that plainly than imply a warehouse we do not have. We hold HÅG and RH task seating in Sydney, and we stock the Offecct coat stand. The soft seating, acoustic products and tables are ordered in against a project, so ask us for the current lead time before you plan around a handover date.

What Offecct is

Offecct is the Swedish design brand in the Flokk group, founded in 1990 and part of Flokk since 2017. Its own line is “furniture with a mission”, and the company frames its purpose in terms that are as much about the room as the object: “Good design inspire and encourage creativity. This is sometimes felt rather than seen, like through a comfortable position in a furniture, or in a perfect acoustic environment.”

The range is soft seating, acoustic solutions, meeting chairs and tables, developed with outside architects and designers and specified into workplaces, hotels, restaurants, airports and public spaces across more than fifty countries. Manufacturing runs from Offecct's own site at Grönhults vägen in Tibro, Sweden, and from Flokk's plant at Turek in Poland, depending on the product — both addresses appear on the Environmental Product Declarations we hold.

Who Offecct suits

This is the brand you reach for when the furniture has to do acoustic and spatial work, not just seating. An open floor that has gone hard and echoey does not need more task chairs; it needs absorption, soft separation and places to sit that are not desks. Offecct covers the breakout zones, the reception, the quiet corners and the meeting tables, and it does so at a design level that stands up next to the architecture rather than apologising to it.

If your problem is specifically speech privacy in an enclosed space rather than reverberation in an open one, say so — separately from the Flokk distributorship, Chair Dinkum is an authorised Australian Framery dealer for acoustic pods and meeting booths, and a pod and an acoustic panel solve different problems.

Environmental Product Declarations

Two current EPDs, both issued under ISO 14025, ISO 21930 and EN 15804 through the Norwegian EPD Foundation, are worth having in a submission:

• Font sofa system — NEPD-4613-3873-EN, valid 30 December 2022 to 30 December 2027. Against a declared unit of one Font Sofa 1800 in Gabriel Cura with RAL 7022 powder coating including packaging, and a five-year reference service life: 88.29 kg CO²-eq for cradle-to-gate stages A1 to A3, and 20.48 per cent recycled material content. Weight 37.99 kg excluding packaging, 43.83 kg including. By mass the sofa is 51.02 per cent steel and 23.68 per cent plywood. Produced at Flokk's Turek plant in Poland.
• Carry On — NEPD-2268-1031-EN, declaring 23.70 kg CO²-eq for stages A1 to A3, 22.85 per cent recycled content, a 15-year reference service life, and production at Offecct in Tibro, Sweden. Dimensions H 450/560, seat 455, W 450/490, Ø 450. Note that this declaration reached its stated validity date in June 2025, so if you are relying on it in a submission ask us for the current replacement rather than quoting an expired document.

Warranty

Offecct publishes its own term, and it is not the HÅG one. Quoted exactly as the Circulus factsheet gives it: “The warranty for material and construction faults is five (5) years from the delivery date. Wear, tear and damage on lacquered parts, glides and felt glides, and Velcro for Soundwaves that have been moved, are not covered by this warranty.”

That exclusion list is worth reading rather than skimming, particularly the Velcro clause if you are planning to move Soundwave panels between fitouts. Terms can differ by product line, so ask us to confirm the term for the specific product you are specifying and we will obtain it in writing before you order. As Australian distributor we assess and handle Flokk-brand warranty claims here in Sydney rather than routing them offshore. Do you have acoustic absorption data for Soundwave?

Not in the document we hold, which is a mounting and care instruction sheet and contains no sound absorption coefficients, no absorption class and no alpha-w figure. We are not going to invent one. If you are comparing acoustic panel suppliers on absorption data, ask us and we will request the test report from Flokk.

What environmental certifications does Offecct hold?

On the Circulus factsheet: ISO 14001:2015, GREENGUARD Gold, EU Ecolabel, EPD and Swedish Möbelfakta, with EU Ecolabel licences NOR/049/001 and PL/049/001 cited. Per-product Environmental Product Declarations exist for other lines including Font and Carry On.
