The Chair for the Whole Shift
KAB Seating builds suspension seats for trucks, tractors and mining machines, and the Executive is what that engineering looks like in an office: a wide, high-backed chair with a comfort headrest, padded tilt-adjustable armrests, a heavy-duty mechanism with 16 degrees of tilt rocker and 27 degrees of backrest recline, an inflatable lumbar pump, and a premium foam package KAB formulates for extended use. KAB describes it as a genuine 24/7 continuous-use chair; it is AFRDI 142 certified to 160 kg for multi-shift use, and KAB's own weight rating is 200 kg.
Trimmed as KAB Australia photographs it: half leather, half cloth, with leather on the wear panels and cloth where you sit against it.
The Numbers on the Drawing
Read from KAB Australia's leaflet drawing (its figures are unlabelled, so confirm with us before specifying): 654 mm overall width, 502 mm seat width, 632 mm overall depth, 1108 mm overall height with the seat at 559 mm, a 231 mm headrest, and backrest callouts of 236 and 229 mm. The armrests tilt 15 degrees each way, the rocker runs 18 degrees back and 9 forward, and the seat tilts through 11.6 and 4.4 degrees.
KAB's global page adds what the leaflet does not: the Executive's cushion depth and cushion tilt are fixed, the headrest is KAB's standard headrest, and it is the chair KAB recommends for large users.
The Details
Five Things That Make It a KAB Executive
The headrest, the armrests, the mechanism, the lumbar pump and the base, with KAB Seating Australia's figures from its leaflet; the drawing dimensions are unlabelled, so confirm with us before specifying.

The Comfort Headrest
A height-adjustable comfort headrest, 231 mm on KAB's leaflet drawing.

Tilt-Adjustable Armrests
Padded armrests that tilt through 30°, 15° each way, with the side control alongside.

The Heavy-Duty Mechanism
16° of tilt rocker with the tension adjustable for all sizes, and 27° of adjustable backrest recline. The drawing shows 18° back and 9° forward.

The Inflatable Lumbar Pump
A hand pump inflates the lower lumbar support, so the back is set by whoever is sitting in it.

The Five-Star Base
A 100 mm gas riser over a black five-star base on twin-wheel castors; the drawing puts the seat at 559 mm and the chair at 1108 mm overall.

This Listing
This listing is the KAB Executive as KAB Australia photographs it: half leather, half cloth trim, comfort headrest, tilt-adjustable armrests, 100 mm gas riser and black five-star base on twin-wheel castors. KAB does not publish trim codes, alternative gas lifts or castor options for the Australian chair; call 02 9640 0642 and we will ask.
For a narrower console chair with the same mechanism, see the KAB Controller; for a seat slide and seat tilt, the Director II.
Why We Sell It
KAB Seating Pty Ltd is the Australian subsidiary of KAB Seating, the Northampton suspension-seat maker whose lineage runs back to Bostrom Seating in 1935; KAB Seating Ltd was formed in 1984 and has been part of Commercial Vehicle Group since 2001. The Australian company, based at Park Ridge in Queensland, has more than three decades of experience and holds ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. Its office chairs are built the way its truck and mining seats are: for people who sit in them for whole shifts.
We sell KAB because control rooms, dispatch desks and 24-hour operations ask for a chair built for shift work, and KAB's range is AFRDI 142 certified to 160 kg in multiple-shift operation, with AS/NZS 4438 Level 6; KAB's own weight rating is 200 kg. Chair Dinkum is an authorised KAB Seating dealer. Call 02 9640 0642 for a control-room quote.

Furntech-AFRDI — certified products list (Blue Tick)Link →Dimensions
All figures are KAB Seating Australia's, from the leaflet and quality-control page; the dimensions are read from the leaflet drawing, whose figures are unlabelled, so confirm with us before specifying. The Furntech-AFRDI Blue Tick list (September 2026) records certificate 17670/1 (Executive/Executive ACS): AFRDI 142 certified to 160 kg in multiple-shift operation, with AS/NZS 4438 Level 6, valid to 2 December 2027. KAB's own weight rating is 200 kg; the two figures measure different things. KAB does not publish the chair's weight, base material, gas-lift options, trim names or carton size; the leaflet does not list a seat slide. Warranty terms are on KAB's quality-control page and our warranty page; ask us to confirm KAB's terms for 24-hour use.
Frequently Asked Questions
KAB's global page says the Executive is ideal for all office and 24/7 environments and that its wide, flat cushions make it ideal for large users. On KAB's leaflet drawings the seat is 502 mm wide and the chair 654 mm overall, wider than the Controller's 480 and 642 mm.
No. KAB's leaflet lists no seat slide for the Executive and its global page shows cushion depth and cushion tilt as fixed. The Director II has a 50 mm seat extension and a seat tilt of 0, 4 or 8 degrees.

AFRDI 142 certified to 160 kg (multi-shift), with AS/NZS 4438 Level 6: the Furntech-AFRDI Blue Tick list records certificate 17670/1 (Executive/Executive ACS), valid to 2 December 2027. KAB's own weight rating is 200 kg. The two measure different things, so we show both. Ask us if a tender needs the certificate.

KAB Seating Australia publishes a 5-year frame warranty and a 2-year manufacturer's warranty on office-seat components. KAB's published product information for its 24-hour chairs (UK range) specifies a 2-year warranty where the chair is used in a 24-hour environment, so ask us to confirm KAB's terms for your roster before you order.
