KAB Director II

Built for 24/7

KAB Australia describes the Director II as a modern ergonomic solution purposely designed for 24/7 office applications.

AFRDI 142, 160 kg Multi-Shift

AFRDI 142 certified to 160 kg (multi-shift) and AS/NZS 4438 Level 6, certificate 17670/3, valid to 2 December 2027. KAB's own weight rating is 200 kg; the two measure different things.

KAB Warranty

KAB Seating Australia publishes a 5-year frame and 2-year component warranty; for 24-hour use, ask us to confirm KAB's terms for your roster. Chair Dinkum handles the claim.

KAB Director II 24/7 Office Chair

The KAB With a Seat Slide

The Director II is KAB Australia's 24/7 office chair with the adjustments the Executive and Controller do not have: a 50 mm seat extension so a taller person can set the seat depth, and a seat tilt of 0, 4 or 8 degrees. The rest is the KAB heavy-duty package: a comfort headrest, 30-degree tilt-adjustable armrests, 16 degrees of tilt rocker with adjustable tension, 27 degrees of backrest recline, an inflatable lumbar pump and a 100 mm gas riser. It is AFRDI 142 certified to 160 kg for multi-shift use; KAB's own weight rating is 200 kg.

Trimmed as KAB Australia photographs it, in black leather.

Dimensions and This Listing

The Numbers on the Drawing

Read from KAB Australia's leaflet drawing (its figures are unlabelled, so confirm with us before specifying): 683 mm overall width and a 475 mm second width callout, 561 mm at the seat-height position, 600 mm depth, overall height 1155 to 1355 mm, and headrest and backrest callouts of 210 and 215 mm. KAB's global site lists a chair called the Director whose cushion depth and tilt are fixed; the Australian Director II is a different specification, and only its figures are used here.

This listing is the Director II as KAB Australia photographs it: black leather trim, comfort headrest, tilt-adjustable armrests, seat slide, seat tilt, 100 mm gas riser and black five-star base on twin-wheel castors. KAB does not publish trim codes or gas-lift options for the Australian chair; call 02 9640 0642 and we will ask. Without the seat slide, the KAB Executive is the wider chair and the Controller the narrower one.

Why We Sell It

KAB Seating Pty Ltd is the Australian subsidiary of KAB Seating, the Northampton suspension-seat maker whose lineage runs back to Bostrom Seating in 1935; KAB Seating Ltd was formed in 1984 and has been part of Commercial Vehicle Group since 2001. The Australian company, based at Park Ridge in Queensland, has more than three decades of experience and holds ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. Its office chairs are built the way its truck and mining seats are: for people who sit in them for whole shifts.

We sell KAB because control rooms, dispatch desks and 24-hour operations ask for a chair built for shift work, and KAB's range is AFRDI 142 certified to 160 kg in multiple-shift operation, with AS/NZS 4438 Level 6; KAB's own weight rating is 200 kg. Chair Dinkum is an authorised KAB Seating dealer. Call 02 9640 0642 for a control-room quote.
