The Metro for Three Shifts
The Metro II 24/7 is the Metro rebuilt for multi-shift operations: a heavy-duty mechanism with seat tilt, back tilt and a depth-adjustable seat slide, a seat upholstered in Elastic III knit for wear, and a breathable fine-mesh back. It is certified to AFRDI 142 for users up to 160 kg in multiple-shift operation (Furntech-AFRDI certificate 18503/1, covering the Medium and High Back, valid to 31 July 2029). Buro states the Metro II is endorsed by the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
Choose the standard back (530 mm, contoured lumbar) or the high back (560 mm, adjustable lumbar), with or without arms, on the black nylon base. Buro names hospitals, airports, emergency departments, call centres, security stations, control rooms and multi-shift assembly as where it goes.

Choosing Your Metro II 24/7
Choose the back and the arms. The standard back is Buro's 222 series (222-N-153-SS, or 222A-N-153-SS with height and width adjustable arms); the high back is Buro's 224 series (224-N-153-SS, or 224A-N-153-SS with arms), with a taller 560 mm mesh back and an adjustable lumbar. Every variant has a black Elastic III seat, a black mesh back and the black nylon base; Buro offers custom seat upholstery to order, and for the high back a small seat (480 W × 470 D mm) and a 100 mm gas lift (seat height 465–560 mm) as options.
The polished aluminium base shown in some photographs is a project or special order, quoted on request and subject to Buro's minimum order quantities and pricing; call 02 9640 0642. Frequently Asked Questions
The high back is 560 mm against 530, on a ratchet height with an adjustable lumbar, and the chair is 1150 mm high overall against 995. Choose it for taller users or anyone who wants shoulder support; the standard back, with its contoured lumbar, is the lower-profile chair for a console or a low partition. Seat, mechanism, base and AFRDI 142 certification are the same.
The heavy-duty mechanism, the Elastic III knit seat and AFRDI 142 certification for users up to 160 kg in multiple-shift operation rather than single shift (certificate 18503/1, covering both backs). For a padded chair certified to 185 kg, see the Buro Persona 24/7; our guide to office chair weight ratings explains the difference between a rating and a certified load.
The standard black nylon base, on both backs. The polished aluminium base shown in some photographs is a project or special order, quoted on request and subject to Buro's minimum order quantities and pricing; call 02 9640 0642.
Buro sells both backs with or without height and width adjustable arms; choose in the picker. Arms help if you rest your forearms while typing or push up out of the chair; leave them off if the chair has to roll under a low desk or you sit side-on to the screen.
Buro guarantees the Metro II 24/7 against faulty manufacture for 10 years in single-shift use (up to 8 hours a day) and for 2 years where it is used 16 or more hours a day in multi-shift operation, plus a lifetime gas-lift guarantee; upholstery and fair wear and tear are excluded. Claims come to Chair Dinkum on 02 9640 0642 and we lodge them with Buro; your Australian Consumer Law rights apply in addition.
