HÅG Capisco Models and Measurements
This page sets out the published physical measurements of every current HÅG Capisco model — the 8105, 8106, 8107, 8126 and 8127 — taken from Flokk's current 2025 HÅG Capisco factsheet. Flokk publishes these figures in centimetres; we give the centimetre figure first, with the millimetre equivalent beneath it, because Australian desk and bench heights are usually discussed in millimetres.
Nothing on this page is estimated, rounded from an older brochure, or carried across from one model to another. Where the factsheet has no figure for a model, the cell is empty and we say why.

Why the 8105 column has gaps. The 8105 is the backless Capisco. It has no backrest, so there is no backrest height, width, inclination or tilt range to publish, and its seat is not depth-adjustable, so there is no adjustable seat depth figure either. Those cells are empty because the measurements do not exist on that model, not because the data is missing.
How to read this table
Three things make the difference between reading these numbers and using them.
Seat height is the figure that decides whether the chair works
Seat height is the distance from the floor to the top of the seat pad. Every other figure on this page describes the chair; seat height describes whether the chair fits you, at your desk. Work that number out first and treat the rest as detail.
The gas lift matters more than the model
Read down the first three rows. Between an 8106 and an 8127 the seat height difference is zero at every lift. Between a 150 mm lift and a 265 mm lift on the same chair it is 15 cm at the bottom of the range and 27 cm at the top. The lift you choose changes the chair's usable height range far more than the model you choose does. The lift cannot be changed without replacing the cylinder
A Capisco is not adjustable between the three ranges. The 150, 200 and 265 mm figures belong to three different gas cylinders, and moving between them means physically swapping the cylinder for a replacement gas lift. That is a genuine five-minute job and not an expensive one, but it is a purchase and a task, not a lever on the chair. It is worth getting right at order time.
How these figures are measured — and why your tape measure may disagree
Published seat heights for office chairs are measured with a load on the seat. The industry convention is a weighted load of roughly 64–65 kg applied to the seat before the height is taken, because a gas cylinder compresses slightly under an occupant. Flokk states its loading condition on the Capisco factsheet.
What follows from that:
- An unloaded chair — one you measure in a showroom, or at home before you sit on it — reads slightly higher than the published figure.
- A discrepancy of a centimetre or two between the factsheet and your own tape measure is normal, and is not a fault.
- If you are heavier than the test load, your seated height settles marginally lower than published. If you are lighter, marginally higher.
- Do not choose a gas lift on a 10 mm margin. If the seat height you need sits within about 20 mm of the top or the bottom of a lift's published range, take the lift that leaves you room in both directions.
Every published dimension here is a nominal manufacturing figure. Upholstery thickness, castor or glide choice and floor covering each move the real-world number by a few millimetres.
The five models, and what actually differs
- 8105 — the backless Capisco. Saddle seat, no backrest. The lightest chair in the range at 7.4 kg, and the one that sits about 2 cm lower than the rest on every gas lift.
- 8106 — the standard upholstered saddle chair, and the model most people mean when they say "Capisco". 50 cm seat pad width, 40 cm seat pad depth, 37–47 cm adjustable seat depth, 12.1 kg.
- 8107 — the 8106 with a headrest. Every seat and backrest measurement is identical to the 8106; the headrest adds 2.3 kg, taking the chair to 14.4 kg.
- 8126 — an alternative seat and back form. The seat pad is narrower at 46 cm and shallower at 39 cm, while the seat depth adjustment is deeper at 39–49 cm. 13 kg.
- 8127 — the 8126 with a headrest. Same measurements as the 8126, 15.3 kg.
The practical reading: choose between the 8106 family and the 8126 family on seat pad geometry, not on height. If you want a wider pad, that is the 8106 or 8107 at 50 cm. If you want more seat depth adjustment, that is the 8126 or 8127 at 39–49 cm. The headrest models add a headrest and some weight, and change nothing else.
Configuration options
- Upholstery — from the HÅG Standard Collection or the HÅG Extended Collection.
- Footbase — Black, Silver, White, Blush Rose, Moss Grey, or Polished aluminium.
- Integrated chair hanger — available for the 8105, 8106 and 8107.
- HÅG FootRing — available for chairs with 200 mm and 265 mm lifts only, and colour-matched to the lift, so specify the two together. It is not available for the 150 mm lift.
- HÅG StepUp® — in Black or Silver, giving two additional foot levels rather than a single ring height.
ESD version
The 8106 is available as an ESD chair, upholstered in Antistatic synthetic leather (vinyl) from Nevotex, or Hi-Tech (Black AS064) from Camira. ESD chairs carry a 5-year warranty, conditional on the castors and the upholstery being cleaned regularly with a suitable agent.
Fire safety
CMHR fire-resistant foam is available on request. It must be specified at the time of order and it adds lead time, so raise it before you order rather than after.
Standards and certification
The HÅG Capisco is certified to EN 1335 (2020) Type A and Type Ax, ANSI/BIFMA, EN 16139 and GS. Flokk is ISO 9001 certified.
Environment and materials
The Capisco contains 50% recycled material, both post-consumer and post-industrial, and has a low carbon footprint of 32.87 kg CO₂e for the 8106. It contains no hazardous chemicals and is designed for disassembly.
Documentation: ISO 14001, an EPD prepared to EN 14025 and EN 15804+A2, the EU Ecolabel, GREENGUARD Gold, and Möbelfakta. For tender and green-building submissions, that documentation is usually what is actually required.

Warranty
Flokk provides a ten-year guarantee against production defects on all HÅG office chairs that are in normal use for up to 9 hours per day. Where a chair is used for more than 9 hours per day, the guarantee term is 5 years. ESD chairs carry a 5-year term.
One point deserves stating plainly, because it is widely got wrong. The guarantee condition refers to users up to 110 kg. That is a warranty condition — not a load limit, and not a specification. Flokk publishes no maximum user weight for the HÅG Capisco, and we will not invent one. If that is the deciding factor for you, call us and we will tell you honestly whether the Capisco is the right chair for the job rather than quote a number that does not exist.

Care and maintenance
Vacuum with a furniture brush, or wipe with a clean white cloth or sponge slightly dampened with clean lukewarm water. Do not remove plastic parts, and do not attempt to open the seating mechanism.

The HÅG Capisco was designed by Peter Opsvik. The design is patent- and design-protected.
A note on the Capisco Puls
The Capisco Puls range — the 8001, 8002, 8010 and 8020 — is not covered by this factsheet, and none of the figures above apply to it. The Puls has its own published measurements, which we cover separately rather than repeat numbers that do not belong to it. What we can set out here is the Puls certification, taken from Flokk's own HÅG Capisco Puls factsheet. It is worth reading even if you were not shopping on standards, because in two respects the Puls is certified for work the Capisco range above is not.
Puls standards and certification
The HÅG Capisco Puls is tested according to EN 1335 Type A (2000), ANSI/BIFMA, EN 16139 and GS. Flokk is ISO 9001 certified. Note the difference from the Capisco section above: the Capisco is certified to EN 1335 (2020) Type A and Type Ax, the Puls to EN 1335 Type A (2000). If a tender names a particular edition of EN 1335, that is the distinction to check before you specify.
Puls cleanroom rating — ISO 14644 Class 4 and 5
Flokk has carried out an evaluation of particle generation from the chair in cleanroom use, and the Capisco Puls satisfies ISO 14644 Class 4 and 5. That is the rating that qualifies a chair for laboratories, pharmaceutical production, medical device manufacture and semiconductor and electronics work — rooms most task chairs cannot be specified into at all. If you have been told the seating on your fit-out schedule has to be cleanroom-rated, this is the model in the range that answers it.
The condition attached to that rating is not a footnote. The cleanroom approval applies only with black antistatic vinyl. Specify a fabric — for any reason, including colour — and the chair no longer carries the rating. If you are buying to a cleanroom specification, order black antistatic vinyl and nothing else, and call us on 02 9640 0642 before the order is written if you need the documentation for a submission.
Puls fire safety — BS 5852 Crib 5
HÅG Capisco Puls is BS 5852 Crib 5 approved with CMHR foam. Crib 5 is the fire standard commonly required in healthcare, aged care, marine, hospitality and some public buildings.
The procurement catch is worth knowing in advance rather than afterwards. CMHR (fire resistant) foam is available on request but must be specified at the time of order, and it adds longer delivery lead times. It is not something that can be added to a chair once it has been built, so a Puls ordered on standard foam will not meet Crib 5 no matter what the paperwork says. Raise it when you place the order, and allow for the extra lead time in your programme.
Puls design and awards
The Capisco Puls was designed by Peter Opsvik, and the design is patent- and design-protected. It holds the iF product design award 2011, the reddot design award winner 2011, and the Award for Design Excellence from the Norwegian Design Council. Its backrest doubles as a chest, shoulder and armrest, which is what makes it suit precision work where you need good support — the same characteristic that puts it in laboratories and on benches.

Buying a HÅG Capisco in Australia
What local distribution changes, in practice:
- Stock is held in Sydney. Chairs, gas lifts, footrings, castors and glides are here, not on a boat.
- All three gas lifts can be tried at our Pyrmont showroom, by appointment. Fifteen minutes on the right lift settles the question better than any table, this one included. Bring the shoes you wear at work, and the height of your desk.
- Warranty is assessed locally. A claim is handled here, not routed offshore.

Frequently asked questions
What are the seat height ranges of the HÅG Capisco?
On the 8106, 8107, 8126 and 8127: 40 to 54 cm with a 150 mm gas lift, 46 to 64 cm with a 200 mm lift, and 55 to 81 cm with a 265 mm lift. On the backless 8105 the figures are 38 to 52 cm, 44 to 62 cm and 53 to 79 cm.
Which HÅG Capisco models are there, and how do they differ?
Five: the 8105 is backless, the 8106 is the standard upholstered saddle chair, the 8107 is the 8106 with a headrest, the 8126 has an alternative seat and back form with a narrower 46 cm seat pad and a deeper 39 to 49 cm depth adjustment, and the 8127 is the 8126 with a headrest. Seat heights are identical across the 8106, 8107, 8126 and 8127.
Why does the 8105 have no backrest or seat depth figures?
Because the 8105 is the backless Capisco. It has no backrest, so there is no backrest height, width, inclination or tilt range to publish, and its seat is not depth-adjustable. Those cells are empty because the measurements do not exist on that model, not because the data is missing.
How wide and how deep is the HÅG Capisco seat?
The 8105, 8106 and 8107 have a 50 cm wide seat pad with a 40 cm pad depth. The 8126 and 8127 have a 46 cm wide seat pad with a 39 cm pad depth. Adjustable seat depth is 37 to 47 cm on the 8106 and 8107, and 39 to 49 cm on the 8126 and 8127.
Why does my Capisco measure higher than the published seat height?

Does the HÅG Capisco have a maximum user weight?
Flokk publishes no maximum user weight for the HÅG Capisco. The 110 kg figure that circulates is a condition of the ten-year guarantee, not a load rating and not a specification. Can I fit a HÅG FootRing to any Capisco?
No. The HÅG FootRing is available for chairs with 200 mm and 265 mm gas lifts only, and it is colour-matched to the lift, so the two should be specified together. It is not available for the 150 mm lift. The HÅG StepUp, in Black or Silver, is an alternative that gives two additional foot levels.
Are the Capisco Puls measurements the same?
