For People Who Like Padding
The Roma is Buro's padded chair: a moulded polyurethane foam seat and moulded back, upholstered in Jett fabric, on a three-lever mechanism with a seat slide for more legroom on the 490 mm seat. Buro built it for people who prefer a soft yet supportive work chair, and makes it in two back heights: the mid back (445 mm, with a contoured lumbar) and the high back (535 mm) for taller people.
Both are rated to 180 kg for 8 hours a day, AFRDI Level 6 severe commercial, and guaranteed for 10 years with a lifetime gas lift. Choose the back, one of five Jett colours and the arms.

The three levers are gas lift, seat tilt and back tilt, each locking or free-floating; there is no tilt tension adjustment and no headrest.

Two Back Heights
The mid back (719) is 445 mm with a contoured lumbar and stands 1120 mm overall; the high back (717) is 535 mm at 1180 mm, for taller people. Seat, mechanism, colours and rating are the same.

Choosing Your Roma
Choose the back, the colour and the arms. The mid back is Buro's 719 series and the high back its 717 series; the colour digits are black (63), charcoal (62), dark blue (61), green (64) and red (66), so a black mid back is 719-63-SS and a red high back 717-66-SS, with an A after the series number for height and width adjustable arms. Buro also lists a Roma high back in Dillon PU anti-microbial upholstery for clinical settings, which we can order on 02 9640 0642.
For multi-shift desks, the padded Buro Persona 24/7 chair is certified to 185 kg in multiple-shift use. If you prefer a mesh back, see the Buro Metro mesh office chair or the Buro Force mesh office chair.
Why We Chose Buro
Buro Seating was founded in Auckland in 1994 and has been part of ACCO Brands since 1 March 2025. It publishes a specification sheet, an ergonomic assessment, line drawings and AFRDI certificates for each chair.
We sell Buro because the specifications are published and the chairs are tested to AFRDI standards. As an authorised Buro dealer we quote anything from one chair to a whole floor; see our commercial fit-outs or call 02 9640 0642, and try the chairs by appointment at our Pyrmont showroom.

All figures are Buro Seating's, from the product pages and specification sheets linked above; where the page and the sheet differ we say so. Buro's high-back page returned Dillon PU as the seat material for the standard code while its mid-back page and the colour codes (61 to 66, matching Buro's Jett codes on the Persona) indicate Jett fabric; Jett is shown and the Dillon PU chair is treated as the separate variant Buro lists. Buro does not publish the unboxed chair weight for this model. Guarantee terms are on Buro's guarantee page and our warranty page.
Frequently Asked Questions
The high back (717) has a 535 mm back and stands 1180 mm overall, for taller people or anyone who wants the back to reach the shoulder blades; the mid back (719) has a 445 mm back with a contoured lumbar at 1120 mm overall, and sits lower behind a desk or partition. Seat, mechanism, colours, rating and guarantee are the same.
Buro's Jett fabric, which carries Buro's 2-year guarantee against wear-through; the model code's colour digit gives black (63), charcoal (62), dark blue (61), green (64) and red (66). Buro also lists a separate Roma high back in Dillon PU anti-microbial upholstery, which we can order.
No; Buro lists tilt tension as not fitted. The seat tilt and back tilt each lock or free-float on their own lever, and the third lever is the gas lift; the seat slide is a separate control under the seat. For a synchro mechanism, where the seat and back move together, see the Buro Quantum ergonomic office chair.
Buro sells both backs with or without height and width adjustable arms; choose in the picker. Arms help if you rest your forearms while typing or push up out of the chair; leave them off if the chair has to roll under a low desk or you sit side-on to the screen.
Buro guarantees the chair against faulty manufacture for 10 years in single-shift use, with a lifetime gas-lift guarantee, to the original purchaser, excluding upholstery and fair wear and tear (Jett fabric has its own 2-year wear-through guarantee). Claims come to Chair Dinkum on 02 9640 0642 and we lodge them with Buro. Full terms are on Buro's guarantee page and our warranty page, and your Australian Consumer Law rights apply in addition.
