The HÅG StepUp is a footrest that attaches to the gas lift column of your chair, adding two extra levels for your feet above the base. It exists for the same reason the Capisco does: when you raise the seat toward standing height, your feet lose the floor, and a chair that encourages you to keep moving needs somewhere for them to go.

Flokk describes it as giving "two extra levels for your feet" and a "greater variety of seating positions", and notes that it is easy to attach and detach.

What Flokk publishes

  • Fits: 150 mm, 200 mm and 265 mm gas lifts — unlike the footring, which needs a 200 mm or 265 mm lift
  • Suits desk heights of: approximately 800–950 mm
  • Fitting: attaches and detaches without tools
  • Finishes: black and silver

StepUp or footring?

The HÅG Capisco Footring is a single 450 mm ring and needs a 200 mm or 265 mm gas lift. The StepUp gives two levels rather than one and fits all three lift lengths, including the 150 mm. If you are on a standard-height desk with a 150 mm lift, the StepUp is the only one of the two that will fit.

Pairs with the HÅG Capisco 8106 and a sit-stand desk. Not sure which lift your chair has? Our Capisco gas lift guide works it out from your seat height, or ring us on 02 9640 0642.

Stand Better, Move More

Active Standing Support

A balance board and standing mat combined. Tilt, rock, and shift weight naturally while standing at your desk.

Made in Norway

Designed and manufactured by Flokk (makers of HAG). Built from recycled materials with a focus on durability.

Pairs with Capisco

The perfect companion for sit-stand desk users. Alternate between the Capisco and the Step Up throughout the day.

Why a standing mat is not enough

A flat anti-fatigue mat cushions your feet but does nothing for movement. The HAG Step Up is a curved balance platform that encourages micro-movements: shifting weight, tilting, rocking from heel to toe. These small movements keep blood flowing, reduce joint stiffness, and make standing for longer periods genuinely comfortable.

If you use a sit-stand desk with a HAG Capisco, the Step Up completes the system. Sit, perch, stand, move. The three positions that make a full workday feel shorter.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is more than a balance board. The curved base allows multi-directional movement (front-to-back, side-to-side, and rotational), while the cushioned top surface provides anti-fatigue comfort. Traditional balance boards are unstable and require concentration. The Step Up is subtle enough to use unconsciously while you work.

Yes. The Step Up works with shoes, socks, or bare feet. The surface provides grip in all cases. Many people prefer using it in socks for a more natural feel, but it is designed to work either way.

The Capisco handles sitting and perching. The Step Up handles standing. Together with a sit-stand desk, you get three distinct working positions that you can rotate through all day. Most people find they stand 30-40% longer when they have something active to stand on rather than a flat floor or basic mat.
