Chair Dinkum has sold HÅG in Australia for over a decade, and in that time RH has been the range people ask about second — usually after someone has sat in one at a previous job and remembered it. Now that we hold four RH models in Pyrmont, the question we get on the phone has changed from "do you have RH?" to "which one?"
This guide answers that. It covers the Mereo 220, the Mereo 300, the New Logic 220 and the Secur24 — what actually separates them, who each one suits, and who should be looking at a different brand entirely.
Every figure below is taken from Flokk's published product data, from warranty terms we hold in writing, or from live pricing on this site. Where Flokk's own sources disagree with each other, we say so rather than picking the number we like best. There is one of those in this guide, and it is in the New Logic section.

Two things in that table do most of the work. The back is what separates the two Mereos, and it is a smaller difference than the model numbers suggest. The warranty line is what separates the Secur24 from everything else, and it is a much bigger difference than it looks.
Where RH comes from, and why the chairs feel the way they do
Rolf Holstensson started RH in 1977 in Bodafors, in the Swedish region of Småland. Flokk, which now owns the brand, positions it as "designed for human performance", and the design idea has stayed consistent for almost fifty years: RH chairs are built around an upright working posture rather than a reclined one.
That matters more than any single specification, because it is the thing people either like immediately or do not. An RH pushes you up and forward into the desk. The lumbar pump is standard rather than an option, and it is assertive. If you are used to sinking back into a chair and working from a reclined position, an RH will feel like it is nagging you for the first week. If you work leaning in — reading, drawing, marking up, operating — it will feel like the chair is finally on your side.

RH Mereo 220: the curved back, and the value end of the range
The Mereo 220 is the chair we point most people at first. Flokk publishes it with a seat height of 410–550 mm on the standard 4T NPR gas stem, a seat 410 mm wide and 465 mm deep, and a seat slide giving an effective depth of 403–483 mm. The backrest is 630 mm high and 365 mm wide, armrests adjust through 185–300 mm, and the chair weighs 18.9 kg.
That seat slide range is the number worth dwelling on. Eighty millimetres of seat depth adjustment is the difference between a chair that fits one person and a chair that can be handed between two people of different leg lengths without either of them sitting on the front edge. For a shared workstation or a hot desk, it does more real ergonomic work than any other adjustment on the chair.
Who it suits. General office work, shared desks, and anyone who wants the RH posture without the executive price. It is the natural comparison against a mid-range mesh task chair, and it wins on the back support and loses on breathability.
Who it does not. If you run hot, this is an upholstered chair with an upholstered back and it will feel warmer than mesh. If you want to recline and read, buy something else.
RH Mereo 300: the square back, and the only real difference
Here is the part that saves people a phone call. The Mereo 300 and the Mereo 220 share the same seat dimensions, the same seat slide range, the same armrest range, the same 18.9 kg chair weight and the same certification list. Flokk publishes them identically on every one of those points.
The difference is the backrest. The 220 has the large curved back at 365 mm wide; the 300 has the large square back at 400 mm wide. Thirty-five millimetres, and a different shape at the shoulder line.
In practice the square back holds broader shoulders more squarely and reads as the more formal of the two in a room. The curved back wraps slightly more at the mid-back. Neither is more ergonomic than the other, and anyone who tells you the 300 is "the better chair" because the number is higher is reading a price list rather than a specification. If you are choosing between them for a fit-out, choose on shoulder width and on how the room looks, and do not let anyone build a business case out of the model number.
Who it suits. Broader-shouldered users, and meeting or client-facing rooms where the squarer silhouette suits the space.
Who it does not. Anyone paying a premium for the 300 expecting a mechanical upgrade over the 220. There is not one.
RH New Logic 220: the long-day chair, and one number we will not guess at
The New Logic 220 — Flokk's current catalogues call the family the RH Logic 200 and 220 — is the step up, and the step is real rather than cosmetic. The tilt mechanism is infinitely adjustable and lockable at any position, the backrest angle adjusts separately from the tilt, the lumbar pump is standard, and the seat depth is adjustable. We stock it in Standard and Extra Large seat sizes, which is the single most useful thing about it: a genuinely larger seat pan is rare at this level, and it is the answer for people who find most task chairs narrow.
Now the number we are not going to state. Flokk publishes a seat height of 397–550 mm for the RH Logic 200/220 on its own store, and 410–550 mm on its Flokk Asia product page. An earlier guide on this site quotes 394–526 mm on the standard gas stem. Those are three different figures from sources that all trace back to the manufacturer, and the likeliest explanation is that they describe different gas stem options rather than one of them being wrong.
We are not going to average them or pick the flattering one. If seat height is decisive for you — because you are short, because you are tall, or because it is going into a specification someone else will rely on — ask us and we will confirm the range for the exact gas stem on your order in writing before you commit. That is a slower answer than a number in a table, and it is the only honest one.
The same caution applies to a second item. Flokk's store lists BS 5459-2 in the certification set for the RH Logic 200/220, while its Flokk Asia page for the same chair does not. BS 5459-2 is the British standard written for heavy-duty and 24-hour seating, and it is a meaningful line in a tender, so we are confirming with Flokk which models and configurations it actually covers before we put it in a specification for anyone. If that matters to your project, tell us early.
Who it suits. Long single-shift days, users who need the Extra Large seat, and anyone who wants the strongest mechanism in the RH range short of the Secur24.
Who it does not. A 24-hour control room. That is the next chair, and the reason is the warranty rather than the hardware.
RH Secur24: the one that is actually built for round-the-clock duty
The Secur24 was sold as the BMA Secur24 until BMA Ergonomics merged into RH on 1 January 2025, so if you were quoted a BMA Secur24 at some point, this is that chair under its current name. Flokk describes it as heavy duty seating for observation and monitoring, with robust steel construction, an extra-thick seat cushion, adjustable lumbar support, adjustable seat depth and controls available left- or right-handed. Seat height is published at 410–535 mm, and it carries EN 1335, GS and BS 5459-2.
That last standard is the whole point. EN 1335 and ANSI/BIFMA X5.1 are general office chair standards and neither is written for continuous occupancy. BS 5459-2 is. Who it suits. Control rooms, dispatch, security operations, NOC and SOC floors, broadcast — anywhere a chair is occupied across three shifts by three different bodies.
Who it does not. A normal office. It is the most expensive chair in this guide by a wide margin, and in a single-shift role you are paying for duty cycle you will never use.
The warranty conditions that actually decide things
This is where buyers get caught, and it is not because anything is hidden. Flokk publishes all of it.
RH standard term: 10 years in normal use of up to 9 hours per day, for users up to 150 kg.
RH 24/7 term: Flokk separately provides a 5 year warranty for RH chairs approved for control room 24/7 use. The Secur24 is one of those chairs. Under that term, upholstery is not covered unless it is an RH approved 24/7 fabric.
Read those two side by side rather than treating ten as automatically the better number. A 10-year term that is written for up to 9 hours a day and a 5-year term written for round-the-clock occupancy are not comparable figures. Dropping the headline number into an evaluation matrix without the hours condition attached to it is how a control room ends up outside its warranty terms on the day of installation — and if you are specifying a 24/7 fabric, confirm it is on RH's approved list before you fall in love with a colour.

The weight figure people misread
RH publishes a general maximum user weight of 150 kg across its range, and that same 150 kg appears as a condition of the 10-year warranty. It is a useful, published, citable number — which already puts RH ahead of several premium brands that publish nothing at all.
The trap is the Secur24. Pre-merger BMA literature quotes 234 kg for that chair, and it is a genuine published figure — but it is a maximum static load, not a certified maximum user weight tested to ANSI/BIFMA X5.1. The two measure different things and they are not interchangeable. RH does not currently publish a Secur24-specific certified user weight that we can cite, so if a rated user capacity is mandatory in your specification, contact us before you submit and we will get the current certified figure in writing from the supplier. Who should not buy RH at all
Three groups, honestly.
If you need a certified user weight above 150 kg, RH is not your brand. That is the published ceiling and exceeding it generally voids the warranty in explicit terms. Look at our 24/7 and heavy duty range instead, where there is a chair published at 200 kg.
If you want mesh, RH is upholstered. In a warm Australian office without good air handling, that is a real comfort difference and not a small one.
If you work reclined, the whole design premise is against you. RH builds for upright, forward, working-at-the-desk posture. There are excellent chairs built for the other thing, and a few of them are in our task chair range.
What things cost, and what is actually on the floor

One honest note on the Mereo 220. Its lowest listed price is a heavily reduced Black Fabric finish, and at the time of writing that finish is not on the floor. If you are shopping on that number, ring us before you plan around it rather than after.

Why does the RH Secur24 have a shorter warranty than the other RH chairs?
Because it is the model approved for continuous occupancy, not because it is a lesser chair. The RH standard term is 10 years in normal use of up to 9 hours per day for users up to 150 kg. Flokk separately provides a 5 year warranty for RH chairs approved for control room 24/7 use. A 10 year term written for up to 9 hours a day and a 5 year term written for round the clock duty are not comparable numbers, and comparing them without the hours conditions attached is how a control room ends up outside its warranty terms on day one.
What is the seat height of the RH New Logic 220?
We are not going to state one, because Flokk's own published sources differ. Are RH chairs available with a mesh back?
