Built for Big Screens
Humanscale's M2 Pro and M8 Pro are the current generation of its M-series monitor arms: the same patented Weight-Compensating Spring, so the screen moves with a fingertip and holds position without knobs, with more capacity than the arms they replace and new Quick Release joints that snap together for installation and come apart for reconfiguration. Smart Stop sets a rotation limit, and the cable runs inside the arm.
The M8 Pro is the heavy-monitor arm: rated for a single screen from 4.1 to 22.7 kg, which takes in 34-inch ultra-wides and 40-inch displays, 79 percent more than the M8.1 it replaces. A counterbalance indicator shows when the spring is matched to the screen.
One Big Screen or Two Small Ones
The dynamic link lifts, lowers and extends the screen in one motion, so an ultra-wide can be pulled forward for detail work and pushed back to clear the desk. With Humanscale's optional crossbar, the same arm carries two flat screens of up to 5.7 kg each; with an M/Connect 3 dock in the base, the single-screen rating is 4.1 to 18.1 kg.
Quick Release joints mean the arm can be reconfigured without tools; Smart Stop stops it swinging into a wall.
The Details
Five Things That Make It an M8 Pro
The mount, the spring, the joints, the cable route and the VESA head, with Humanscale's figures beside them.

Two-Piece Clamp Mount
A two-piece clamp mount is supplied, for the rear or side edge of a desk with a solid top and a clear underside. Bolt-through and 12, 18, 25 and 30 mm sliding desk clamps are available for thicker edges and modesty panels.

Spring, With an Indicator
Humanscale's patented Weight-Compensating Spring moves the screen with a fingertip and holds position without knobs, and a counterbalance indicator shows when the spring is matched to the screen. Rated for one monitor from 4.1 to 22.7 kg.

Quick Release Joints
The joints snap together for installation and come apart for reconfiguration, so the arm can be taken apart or reconfigured without tools and without replacing it.

Smart Stop and Cable Route
Smart Stop sets an adjustable rotation limit, so the arm does not swing into a wall, and the cable runs inside the arm rather than across the desk.

Standard VESA Head
A standard 100 × 100 / 75 × 75 mm VESA plate with tilt and landscape-to-portrait rotation. VESA and mounting standards are unchanged from the M8.1, so accessories carry over.

This Model
This listing is the M8 Pro single monitor arm (Humanscale code M81BTBC in black, M81BTWC in white) on the standard clamp mount with a tilt head and 100 × 100 / 75 × 75 mm VESA plate. Humanscale rates it for one monitor from 4.1 to 22.7 kg with all mounts; with a notebook holder, thin-client holder or offset VESA plate, 3.2 to 12.7 kg.
Humanscale states the M8 Pro is Living Product Certified, meeting the Living Future Institute's criteria for a climate, water and energy positive product. It is supplied from Humanscale Australia's stock with Humanscale's 15-year warranty.
Why We Stock It
We stock Humanscale's M-series because it is the arm that still works in year ten: a spring, not a gas strut, machined joints, and a 15-year warranty that Humanscale actually publishes. It is also the arm that pairs with the Humanscale chairs we sell, which matters when a whole workstation is being specified.
Call 02 9640 0642 with your screen sizes and weights and we will match the arm, the mount and any links you need; we can also show you the M-series alongside the CBS and Thinking Works arms at our Pyrmont showroom, 1/209 Harris Street.

Weight capacities are Humanscale's, from its Monitor Arm Weight Capacity Guide for the M8 Pro with all mounts. Humanscale's product page does not publish reach and height figures for the M8 Pro; the M8.1 it replaces measured 539 mm of reach with the VESA centre 252–449 mm above the desk. Chair Dinkum is a Humanscale dealer; the arms are supplied from Humanscale Australia's stock. Warranty terms are on our warranty page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Capacity and joints. Humanscale rates the M8 Pro for 4.1 to 22.7 kg against the M8.1's 2.7 to 12.7 kg, and adds Quick Release joints and a counterbalance indicator. VESA, mounting standards and the 15-year warranty are unchanged. Humanscale has discontinued the M8.1 and the M10 in favour of the M8 Pro; we still list the M8.1 while Humanscale Australia has stock.
If the screen weighs between 4.1 and 22.7 kg without its stand, yes; most 34-inch ultra-wides are 7 to 10 kg and most 40-inch monitors 10 to 14 kg. Check the weight on the maker's specification. A screen under 4.1 kg is too light for the M8 Pro's spring and belongs on the M2 Pro.
With Humanscale's crossbar, two flat screens of up to 5.7 kg each on the one arm, moving together. If that is what you want from the start, the M8 Pro dual with crossbar and handle is the packaged version.
The standard two-piece clamp mount fits the rear or side edge of a desk with a solid top and a clear underside; the desk needs enough overhang for the clamp jaw. Humanscale also makes bolt-through and sliding-desk-clamp mounts (12, 18, 25 and 30 mm) for desks with a modesty panel or a thick edge. If your desk is unusual, send us a photo of the edge and we will tell you which mount you need.
Same arm, same spring, same warranty. Black disappears behind a black monitor; white with polished aluminium suits a white or light desk. Both are supplied on the standard clamp mount.
Humanscale's published warranty for this arm is 15 years against defects in materials and workmanship. Chair Dinkum is a Humanscale dealer, so a claim comes to us on 02 9640 0642 and we lodge and manage it with Humanscale. Full terms are on our warranty page, and your Australian Consumer Law rights apply in addition.
