PostureFit SL
Most chairs support your lower back. The Aeron supports your sacrum too. PostureFit SL uses two independent pads that adjust to support both your lumbar spine and the base of your pelvis, keeping your spine in its natural S-curve. This is what separates the Aeron from chairs that simply push a cushion into your lower back.

The Aeron Chair has been the benchmark for ergonomic seating ever since its debut in 1994. Since then, Herman Miller has learnt a lot about how to best support people – and their postures. What has been incorporated into today’s Aeron Chair are all of the technological and ergonomic enhancements that have been gained along the way: smarter weight distribution through 8Z Pellicle, adjustable PostureFit SL for total spinal support, and balanced recline and natural movement thanks to Harmonic 2 Tilt.
Three Sizes, One Perfect Fit
Herman Miller makes the Aeron in three sizes, A, B and C. The sizes are not just a taller or shorter version of the same chair: the backrest, seat and frame are proportioned differently for each, so choosing the right one matters more than any other option. Graphite is available here in all three sizes, and the other finishes in sizes B and C. This model at a glance
Onyx is Herman Miller’s black Aeron colourway, and this configuration keeps it black throughout: the frame and base are finished in black powder coat rather than bare metal. Underneath it is the same chair as our Graphite Aeron, with Fully Adjustable Arms and Adjustable PostureFit SL, so choosing Onyx is a decision about looks, not comfort. If you want black with bright metal instead, compare the Onyx Polished Aluminium Frame version. We stock Onyx in sizes B and C.

Yes, this is a 100% genuine Herman Miller Aeron. We source our Aeron chairs as international parallel imports, which means they are not supplied through the standard Australian authorised-retail channel. Because of this, serial-based registration with Herman Miller is not available. Warranty support for this chair is provided directly by Chair Dinkum.
Chair Dinkum provides a 12-year warranty on all Aeron chairs we sell. This covers the frame, tilt mechanism, gas lift cylinder, base, armrest structure, and Pellicle mesh under normal commercial use (8 hours per day, 5 days per week). If any covered component fails within the warranty period, contact us directly and we will resolve it.
Yes. The Aeron is delivered fully assembled in protective packaging. You simply open the box, remove the packaging, and place it at your desk. No assembly, no tools, no waiting. The chair is ready to use immediately.
We stock six Aeron configurations. Graphite (dark grey) and Mineral (light grey) come with a plastic base. Onyx is black with a black powder-coated frame and base. Mineral is also available with a polished aluminium frame or a satin aluminium frame, and Onyx with a polished aluminium frame. Every configuration we sell has Fully Adjustable Arms and Adjustable PostureFit SL back support, so the ergonomics are identical. The choice comes down to colour, frame finish and the size you need.
The Aeron suits anyone who sits for extended periods and values proper spinal support. It is particularly well suited to people who run warm (the full mesh construction keeps you cool), people who want a chair they can set and forget (the adjustments hold their position for years), and people who want a chair that will last over a decade. It is less suited to people who prefer a heavily cushioned seat or who want to sit cross-legged.
