Made to Move With You
RH built its name on one idea: a chair should move with the person in it, not hold them still. The Mereo 300's tilt is frictionless and infinitely adjustable, and Flokk's own advice is to work with it unlocked, so the seat and back follow every lean toward the screen and every stretch away from it. That constant small movement is what keeps blood flowing and your back from stiffening through a long day.
The backrest angle adjusts on its own lever, separate from the tilt, through 23.7 degrees, so you can set the support you want and still let the chair rock. If you would rather sit fixed for a task, lock it in any position.
The Square Back
The 300 is the square-back Mereo. It stands 63 cm high, the same as the curved-back 220, but it is 40 cm across rather than 36.5, and the panel is flat rather than wrapped. That extra 3.5 cm is the whole reason to choose it: it suits broader shoulders, and it gives a flatter, more upright support for people who do not want a back curving in around them.
The whole back adjusts in height, from 56 to 64 cm above the seat, and inside it the lumbar support sets anywhere from 13 to 21 cm up, so the support lands where your spine actually is rather than where a fixed pad happens to be.
The Details
Five Things That Make It a Mereo 300
RH's Swedish task chair with the wide square back, designed by Veryday with the Flokk design team and held in our Sydney warehouse in four finishes.

The Square 63 cm Back
63 cm high and 40 cm wide, flat rather than wrapped — the widest back in the Mereo family and the reason to choose the 300 over the curved 220. The whole back adjusts from 56 to 64 cm above the seat.

Frictionless Tilt
Infinitely adjustable and lockable in any position. Flokk's advice is to leave it open so the chair follows you; the backrest angle has its own lever, through 23.7 degrees, separate from the tilt.

Lumbar You Can Place
The lumbar support sets anywhere from 13 to 21 cm above the seat, so the curve meets the small of your back rather than wherever a fixed pad sits.

Seat Slide and Seat Angle
The seat slides 8 cm, from 40 to 48 cm deep, to set thigh support without pressure behind the knee, and the seat angle runs from +7.7° to 16° forward for anyone who likes to perch and work.

Four Finishes in Sydney
Silver Grey, Warm Grey and Black fabric, and Black Paloma leather, all held here. Castors for carpet as standard; hard-floor castors, a coat hanger, the neckrest and the 8T armrests are options.

Figures are Flokk's own, from the RH Mereo factsheet, rounded to the nearest half-centimetre. Two figures on our older product description disagreed with that factsheet — it gave a 41–55 cm seat height and a 66 cm base; Flokk publishes 41–56.5 cm and 68 cm, and those are the figures used here. The 200, 220 and 300 differ only in the back; seat, tilt, adjustments and options are the same across the family. Flokk publishes no chair weight or user weight limit for the Mereo; the 150 kg figure is a condition of the guarantee rather than a rating. Every photograph above is a studio shot of the whole chair in one of the finishes we stock — we have no close-up photography of the Mereo 300's mechanism yet, so we have not implied any.
RH Mereo, by Flokk
This Model
This listing is the RH Mereo 300 held in our Sydney warehouse in four finishes: Silver Grey, Warm Grey and Black fabric, and Black Paloma leather. All come with castors for carpet on a black lacquered aluminium five-star base 68 cm across; hard-floor castors, a coat hanger, the height-adjustable neckrest and the 8T armrests are options.
The photographs show the chair with the neckrest and armrests fitted, so tell us the configuration you want when you order and we will confirm exactly what ships. Chair Dinkum is the exclusive Australian distributor for the Flokk group, and the 10-year Flokk guarantee on this chair is assessed and handled by us in Sydney. Full terms are on our warranty page.
Why We Stock It
We stock the Mereo 300 for the people the curved 220 does not suit. Broad shoulders, or simply a preference for a flat upright back rather than one that wraps around you, and the 300 is the answer without giving up a single adjustment: it is the same seat, the same frictionless tilt, the same lumbar and seat slide, with 3.5 cm more back across the shoulders.
It is also built to be repaired rather than replaced — the seat itself is exchangeable, which is rare — so it earns its place in fit-outs where a chair is shared and expected to last. Sit in one alongside the Mereo 220 and the HÅG Capisco at our Pyrmont showroom, call 02 9640 0642 and we will talk it through before you order, and if you are fitting out a floor we quote projects directly.

RH Mereo — Factsheet (Flokk)PDF ↓Dimensions
Dimensions and adjustment ranges are Flokk's published figures from the RH Mereo factsheet linked above. Our older product description gave a 410–550 mm seat height and a 660 mm base; Flokk's factsheet gives 410–565 mm and 680 mm, and the factsheet is what this page follows. Flokk publishes no chair weight or user weight limit for the Mereo; the 150 kg figure is a condition of the guarantee. Guarantee terms are on our warranty page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Same chair, three backs. The 200 has a medium back 47 cm high; the 220 has a large curved back 63 cm high and 36.5 cm wide that wraps the shoulders; the 300, this listing, has a large square back the same 63 cm high but 40 cm wide and flat. Seat, tilt, adjustments and options are identical across the three. Choose the 300 if you are broad across the shoulders or prefer a flat upright back. Our RH buying guide compares them with the New Logic and the Secur24.
Seat height runs from 41 to 56.5 cm on the standard gas stem, seat depth slides from 40 to 48 cm, and the back and lumbar both adjust in height, so the chair fits a wide range of people rather than an average one. Flokk designed the Mereo for active sitting: the tilt is frictionless and meant to be left open, and the guarantee covers normal use up to 9 hours a day. Sit in one at our Pyrmont showroom — call 02 9640 0642 first so we have your finish on the floor.
Flokk provides a 10-year guarantee on RH Mereo chairs in normal use for up to 9 hours per day, for users up to 150 kg. Chair Dinkum is the exclusive Australian distributor for the Flokk group, so a claim is assessed and handled by us in Sydney, not sent offshore. Full terms are on our warranty page, and your Australian Consumer Law rights apply in addition.
The photographs show the chair fitted with the optional neckrest and 8T height- and width-adjustable armrests. Whether they are included depends on the configuration you order, so tell us what you need when you buy and we will confirm exactly what ships. The coat hanger and hard-floor castors are options too.
Sit back, set the seat height so your feet are flat, slide the seat so two or three fingers fit behind your knee, raise the back until the lumbar support sits in the small of your back, then leave the tilt open and let the chair move with you. Flokk's user-guide film shows every lever in two minutes.
RH is Flokk's Swedish brand; the Mereo was designed by Veryday with the Flokk design team. It carries an EPD (ISO 14025), GREENGUARD GOLD and Möbelfakta certification, is built for disassembly, and even the seat can be replaced rather than the whole chair, which is why it suits workplaces where a chair is shared and expected to last.
