Herman Miller Embody Gaming Chair Black and Cyan

It is the Embody task chair, developed with Logitech G for the way people sit when they play. Herman Miller kept the frame, the Pixelated Support back and seat, the Backfit spine and the tilt, and changed the seat: an additional layer of foam supports the more upright, active posture of gaming, and a copper-infused cooling foam layer is there to prevent heat build-up over a long session. The Black and Cyan colourway is specific to the gaming range. Everything you adjust is the same as on the office Embody.

Yes. It is a genuine, brand-new Herman Miller x Logitech G Embody Gaming Chair, supplied as an international parallel import, which describes the supply route rather than the product. Because it is sourced outside Herman Miller's authorised Australian channel, serial registration with Herman Miller is not available and Herman Miller's own warranty does not apply. The cover on it is our own Chair Dinkum warranty (12 months included, with an optional 12-year Extended Warranty), handled here in Sydney; full terms are on our warranty page. Your Australian Consumer Law rights apply regardless of the option you choose.

A 12-month Chair Dinkum warranty is included, covering the whole chair against defects in materials and workmanship. When you buy, you can add the optional 12-year Chair Dinkum Extended Warranty for $200: 12 years on the frame, base, tilt mechanism, gas lift and structural arm components, and 5 years on the mesh or suspension, upholstery, foam, arm pads and castors. Both apply to single-shift use of up to 8 hours a day. For an approved claim we supply the covered replacement part and deliver it to you free of charge. The seat height runs from 41 to 52 cm and the seat depth adjusts from 38 to 46 cm, and Herman Miller rates the chair for users up to 136 kg (300 lb). The arms adjust for height and width. It is a substantial chair at 23.5 kg, which matters if it is going up stairs. Herman Miller describes the seat's copper-infused cooling foam as there to prevent heat build-up, and the Embody's open Pixelated Support back lets air move through it, which is the main reason the Embody runs cooler than a padded bucket-style gaming chair. We don't publish temperature figures because Herman Miller doesn't; if you run warm, the honest test is twenty minutes in one at the showroom.

It arrives fully assembled in protective packaging: open the box, place it at your desk and sit down. Set the seat height so your feet are flat, the seat depth so two or three fingers fit between the seat edge and the back of your knee, then dial the Backfit so the backrest follows the curve of your lower back, and set the tilt limiter for how far you want to lean back between rounds.
