Delivery times and costs are calculated at checkout based on your location. The chair ships boxed with the base, gas lift and castors separate and takes a few minutes to assemble; Dal's assembly and user guide is linked in the specifications. We can deliver assembled in Sydney by arrangement on 02 9640 0642. Or visit our Pyrmont showroom at 1/209 Harris Street to see what is on the floor.

Change-of-mind returns are subject to our returns policy. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law for faulty or damaged goods are separate and are not limited by it.

Dal publishes two terms for the ControlMaster: five years for use under 8 hours a day and two years for multi-shift use including 8+ hours daily and 24/7 operation. Dal's condition is that the chair is "guaranteed to 200kg (warranty void if this is exceeded)". Dal publishes no ControlMaster-specific warranty document, so what the term covers in detail is not stated by the manufacturer — ask us on 02 9640 0642 before you order if that matters to a tender. Chair Dinkum handles the claim: bring it to us in Sydney and we lodge it with Dal. Our terms are on our warranty page.

This guarantee is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Dal ControlMaster 24/7

Guaranteed to 200 kg

Dal's published figure, with the condition that exceeding it voids the warranty. It is the heaviest guarantee on any chair we stock.

Built for Multi-Shift

A heavy-duty knee-tilt mechanism, full steel frame to seat and back, and a 6-star aluminium base on 60 mm heavy-duty castors.

Inflatable Lumbar

A pump bulb inflates the lumbar to the depth you want and a button lets the air back out — set per shift, per person.

Dal ControlMaster 24/7

The Chair for a Room That Never Closes

The ControlMaster is Dal's heavy-duty 24/7 chair, and the spec that defines it is the one Dal prints in capitals: guaranteed to 200 kg. Underneath that is a full steel inner frame to the seat and back, a heavy-duty knee-tilt mechanism with lockable and adjustable tilt tension, a 6-star aluminium base 760 mm across and 60 mm heavy-duty castors.

The adjustments are the ones a shift worker actually uses: gas-lift height over 450 to 540 mm, a backrest that reclines 20 degrees with 7 degrees of seat recline, a fully adjustable headrest for depth, height and angle, incline-adjustable armrests that fold back out of the way, and an inflatable lumbar pump.

The Adjustments

Seven Things You Can Set

Dal's user guide documents seven adjustments: headrest height and angle, armrest incline on a wheel, backrest angle, seat height, tilt angle and lock, tilt tension, and the lumbar pump. The tilt locks in three positions.

What it does not have is a seat slide — there is no seat-depth adjustment on this chair, in Dal's product page, brochure or user guide. On a chair shared across shifts by people of different heights, that is worth knowing before you order rather than after.

The Details

Five Things That Make It a ControlMaster

The 200 kg guarantee, the knee-tilt mechanism, the lumbar pump, the fold-back armrests and the 6-star base, with Dal's own figures from its product page and brochure. The crops are Dal's product photography.

Upholstery

Fabric or Leather

Two upholsteries. Dal's brochure names the fabric as Gabriel FIGHTER in black 60999 under code CM1-40, and the leather as Neo Black under code CM1-45; Dal's current product page instead calls the fabric "Plus Black". Because the two disagree, we will confirm which textile is on the chair we ship you before the order goes through — call 02 9640 0642.

Other colours and fabrics are available on indent at roughly a 10-week lead time with a minimum order quantity, per Dal's brochure. Dal also lists a headrest or no-headrest option.

Why We Stock It

Because control rooms, dispatch desks and 24-hour operations ask for a chair that will carry a heavy user through a night shift, and there are not many with a published 200 kg guarantee. Dal Brands is an Australian company, based at Carrum Downs in Victoria since 2003, with a Melbourne production facility and ISO 9001 — so parts and warranty go through an Australian supplier rather than an importer's spare-parts lottery.

Two things we will not claim for it, because Dal does not. There is no AFRDI, AS/NZS 4438, static-load or fire-rating claim published anywhere for this chair — if your tender needs certification, tell us on 02 9640 0642 and we will ask Dal in writing or point you at a certified alternative. And Dal makes no Australian-made claim for the ControlMaster itself, so neither do we.

All figures are Dal's own, from its ControlMaster product page, the Issue 2 brochure and the CM2 user guide linked above. Where the page and the brochure differ we use the brochure, which is the fuller document, and say so: overall height is a 1290 to 1480 mm range rather than the single 1290 mm figure the page prints, and the 700 mm width and depth exclude the base, whose diameter is 760 mm. The fabric name differs between the two sources (Gabriel FIGHTER black 60999 in the brochure, 'Plus Black' on the page) and we confirm it per order. Dal publishes no chair or carton weight, no foam density, no country of manufacture, and no certification claim of any kind for this chair. Warranty terms are on our warranty page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dal publishes a 200 kg guarantee, with the condition that exceeding it voids the warranty. That is Dal's own figure and the only load claim it makes. Note what is not published: there is no AFRDI certification, no AS/NZS 4438 level, no static load test and no fire rating stated anywhere by Dal for this chair. If a tender requires certification, call 02 9640 0642 before you specify it.

It depends on how hard the chair works. Dal publishes five years for use under 8 hours a day and two years for multi-shift use including 8+ hours daily and 24/7 operation, in both cases conditional on staying under 200 kg. Dal publishes no ControlMaster-specific warranty document setting out what is covered, so ask us on 02 9640 0642 and we will get it in writing before you order.

No. There is no seat-depth adjustment on the ControlMaster — it is not on Dal's product page, in the brochure specification table or in the user guide. On a chair shared between people of different heights that is a real limitation, and the other 24/7 chairs we stock include several with a seat slide.

It inflates. Squeeze the pump bulb on the side to push the lumbar further into your back, and press the release button to let air out. It is set per person rather than per chair, which is exactly what you want on a desk shared across shifts.

Leather wipes clean, which matters on a shared 24-hour desk, and is the more formal of the two. Fabric breathes better through a long shift. Dal's own sources disagree on the fabric's name — the brochure says Gabriel FIGHTER black 60999, the product page says "Plus Black" — so we confirm the actual textile with Dal per order. Other colours are available on indent at about a 10-week lead time.

Visit our Pyrmont showroom at 1/209 Harris Street to see what is on the floor, and call 02 9640 0642 first so we can have it out for you. For a control room, ask us about a sample chair on the floor for a week before you commit to a room's worth.
