Made to Move With You
RH built its name on one idea: a chair should move with the person in it, not hold them still. The Mereo 220's tilt is frictionless and infinitely adjustable, and Flokk's own advice is to work with it unlocked, so the seat and back follow every lean toward the screen and every stretch away from it. That constant small movement is what keeps blood flowing and your back from stiffening through a long day.
The backrest angle adjusts on its own lever, separate from the tilt, so you can set the support you want and still let the chair rock. If you would rather sit fixed for a task, lock it in any position.
The Curved Back
The 220 is the curved-back Mereo: 63 cm high and 36.5 cm wide, shaped to wrap the shoulders and hold the lower back. The whole back adjusts in height, and inside it the lumbar support can be set anywhere from 13 to 21 cm above the seat, so the curve lands where your spine actually is rather than where a fixed pad happens to be.
Under you, the seat slides 8 cm to set thigh support without pressure behind the knee, and the seat angle tips forward to 16 degrees for anyone who likes to perch and work. Every lever is shaped and placed to be found by hand without looking down.
The Details
Five Things That Make It a Mereo 220
RH's Swedish task chair, designed by RH's team with the Stockholm studio Veryday and held in our Sydney warehouse in four finishes: Silver Grey and Warm Grey fabric, Black fabric, and Black Paloma leather.

Frictionless Tilt
The tilt is infinitely adjustable and lockable in any position, and Flokk's own advice is to work with it open so the seat and back follow every lean toward the screen. The backrest angle has its own lever, separate from the tilt.

Curved 63 cm Back
The 220 is the curved-back Mereo, 63 cm high and 36.5 cm wide, shaped to wrap the shoulders and hold the lower back. The whole back adjusts in height, from 56 to 64 cm above the seat.

Lumbar You Can Place
Inside the back, the lumbar support sets anywhere from 13 to 21 cm above the seat, so the curve lands where your spine actually is rather than where a fixed pad happens to be.

Seat Slide and Seat Angle
The seat slides 8 cm, from 40 to 48 cm deep, to set thigh support without pressure behind the knee, and the seat angle tips forward to 16° for anyone who likes to perch and work.

Neckrest and 8T Armrests
The height-adjustable neckrest and the 8T armrests are options, the armrests adjusting for height from 19.5 to 31 cm above the seat and for width from 35.5 to 51 cm. A coat hanger and hard-floor castors are options too.

The figures here are Flokk's own, from the RH Mereo factsheet, rounded to the nearest half-centimetre. The 200, 220 and 300 differ only in the back; the seat, tilt, adjustments and options are the same across the family. Flokk publishes no chair weight or user weight limit for the Mereo; the 150 kg figure is a condition of the guarantee rather than a rating. Chair Dinkum is the exclusive Australian distributor for the Flokk group, so a guarantee claim is assessed and handled by us in Sydney — terms are on our warranty page.

Why We Stock It
We stock the Mereo 220 because it is the RH chair we can put under almost anyone. It fits a wide range of bodies, it is built for shared desks where nobody owns the chair, and it is designed to be repaired rather than replaced: the seat itself is exchangeable, which is rare. In the open-plan fit-outs Flokk photographs it in, it is doing exactly the job it does in Sydney offices.
You can sit in one alongside the HÅG Capisco and the RH Logic at our Pyrmont showroom. If you are choosing between them, call 02 9640 0642 and we will talk it through before you order, and if you are fitting out a whole floor, we quote projects directly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Same chair, three backs. The 200 has a medium back (47 cm high); the 220, this listing, has a large curved back 63 cm high and 36.5 cm wide that wraps the shoulders; the 300 has a large square back the same height but 40 cm wide. Seat, tilt, adjustments and options are identical across the three. If you want the most enveloping support choose the 220; if you are broad across the shoulders or want a flatter back panel choose the 300. Our RH buying guide compares them with the New Logic and the Secur24.
Seat height runs from 41 to 56.5 cm on the standard gas stem (a shorter stem is available), seat depth slides from 40 to 48 cm, and the back and lumbar both adjust in height, so the chair fits a wide range of people rather than an average one. Flokk designed the Mereo for active sitting: the tilt is frictionless and meant to be left open, and Flokk's guarantee covers normal use up to 9 hours a day, which is what an office chair is for. Sit in one at our Pyrmont showroom; call 02 9640 0642 first so we have your colour on the floor.
Flokk provides a 10-year guarantee on RH Mereo chairs in normal use for up to 9 hours per day, for users up to 150 kg. Chair Dinkum is the exclusive Australian distributor for the Flokk group, so a claim is assessed and handled by us in Sydney, not sent offshore. Full terms are on our warranty page, and your Australian Consumer Law rights apply in addition.
The photographs show the chair fitted with the optional neckrest and 8T height- and width-adjustable armrests. Whether they are included depends on the configuration you order, so tell us what you need when you buy and we will confirm exactly what ships. The coat hanger and hard-floor castors are options too.
Sit back, set the seat height so your feet are flat, slide the seat so two or three fingers fit behind your knee, raise the back until the lumbar curve sits in the small of your back, then leave the tilt open and let the chair move with you. Flokk's user-guide film shows every lever in two minutes.
RH is Flokk's Swedish brand; the Mereo was designed by RH's design team with the Stockholm studio Veryday. It carries an EPD (ISO 14025), GREENGUARD GOLD and Möbelfakta certification, is built for disassembly with no harmful chemicals, and even the seat can be replaced rather than the whole chair, which is why it suits workplaces where a chair is shared and expected to last.
