Zgonic ZG1-DS

Australian Company

Zgonic designs from Port Melbourne for Australian fit-outs, and publishes a 10-year warranty, a recycling guide and a 29% recycled content claim.

Dial-Stop

A patent-pending dial at the base limits the arm's swing to 180° where a wall or a partition sits behind the desk.

Top-Down Install

The clamp fits entirely from above the desk — one person, no crawling underneath, and it can be done at an occupied workstation.

Zgonic ZG1-DS Single Monitor Arm

One Screen, Set and Forgotten

The ZG1-DS is Zgonic's single dynamic arm: a counterbalanced arm that carries a screen of 3 to 11 kg, holds it wherever you leave it, and reaches 600 mm from the desk edge with 290 mm of vertical travel. The head takes a quick-release VESA plate at 75 × 75 or 100 × 100, pivots a full 360 degrees for portrait and tilts 20 degrees forward and 35 back.

Two things set it apart from everything else at this price: the Dial-Stop at the base, and a clamp that fits from above the desk.

The Dial

Dial-Stop, and Why It Exists

Zgonic's patent-pending Dial-Stop is a dial at the base of the post that limits how far the arm can swing: 180 degrees or the full 360. It sounds minor until you have a bank of desks against a wall, or two desks back to back, and somebody swings a 27-inch screen into the partition behind them. Set the dial once at installation and the arm physically cannot reach the wall.

It is set from above with the arm in place, like everything else on this arm.

The Details

Five Things That Make It a ZG1-DS

The Dial-Stop, the top-down clamp, the quick-release VESA plate, the cable route and the upgrade path.

A patent-pending dial at the base limits the arm's swing to 180° or leaves it at the full 360°. Set it once at installation where a desk backs onto a wall or a partition and the screen physically cannot reach it.

Fitted From Above the Desk

The top-down clamp goes on from above: one person, one tool, no crawling underneath, and it can be done at a desk somebody is still using. For 16–33 mm or 33–50 mm tops.

Quick-Release VESA Plate

The head takes a quick-release plate at 75 × 75 or 100 × 100 mm, pivots a full 360° for portrait, and tilts 20° forward and 35° back.

Cables Through the Arm

Semi-concealed cable management runs through the upper and lower arm, so the loom follows the screen instead of hanging off the back of it.

Not a Dead End

Black, white or silver. The quick-release mount means the same post accepts a ZG2-DS dual head or a ZGX-DS crossbar later, so a desk that grows a second screen needs neither a new arm nor a new hole.

Installation

Fitted From Above the Desk

The top-down clamp is the reason Zgonic gets specified for large fit-outs. Most clamps need someone underneath the desk with a spanner, which means clearing the workstation and often moving the desk. Zgonic's goes on from above: one person, one tool, no crawling, and it can be done at a desk that somebody is still using.

It takes 16 to 33 mm or 33 to 50 mm tops depending on which clamp you specify; universal-rail, two-piece and bolt-through clamps are available to order for benching systems and glass tops.

Finishes and Upgrades

This Listing, and What It Becomes

Black, white or silver. The quick-release mount means the arm is not a dead end: the same post accepts a ZG2-DS dual head or a ZGX-DS crossbar later, so a desk that grows a second screen does not need a new arm and a new hole in the desk.

Our silver stock is photographed from the previous generation, which does not show the Dial-Stop dial — the alt text on that image says so. Semi-concealed cable management runs through the upper and lower arm, and magnetic side panels can be supplied in custom colours or with a logo to order.

Why We Stock It

Zgonic is an Australian company based in Port Melbourne, and it is the only monitor-arm maker we stock that designs for the Australian market first. The practical upshot is the top-down clamp — fitted entirely from above the desk, by one person, at an occupied workstation — and the Dial-Stop, which solves the specific problem of a desk against a wall.

It also publishes a 10-year warranty, a recycling guide and a 29% recycled, 99% recyclable content claim, and the quick-release mount means a single arm can become a dual or a crossbar later rather than being thrown away. Call 02 9640 0642 for a floor quote, or visit our Pyrmont showroom at 1/209 Harris Street to see what is on the floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Check three things: the screen's weight in kilograms (the number that matters most), its VESA hole pattern on the back, and your desk's thickness where the clamp goes. The weight range is in the specifications above; almost every office monitor is VESA 75 × 75 or 100 × 100. Zgonic's table gives 3 to 11 kg and 17 to 34 inches, while its brochure says up to 38 inches. Weight is the figure that governs — a 38-inch panel under 11 kg is fine, a 32-inch one over 11 kg is not. If your screen has no VESA holes, a VESA adapter plate is usually available for it — send us the model on 02 9640 0642 and we will check before you order.

It limits how far the arm can swing — 180 degrees or the full 360 — using a dial at the base of the post. Set it to 180 where the desk backs onto a wall, a partition or another desk, and the screen physically cannot be swung into it. It is set once at installation and needs no tools.

Yes, and that is the point of the top-down clamp: it fits entirely from above the desk, so nobody is underneath with a spanner and the workstation does not need clearing. On a floor of desks it is the difference between a weekend job and an afternoon.

Yes. The quick-release mount takes a ZG2-DS dual head or a ZGX-DS crossbar on the same post and the same desk fixing, so a second screen does not mean a second arm or a second hole. Call 02 9640 0642 and we will price the upgrade part.

The spring tension is set for the weight of your screen. If the arm rises on its own the tension is too high; if it sags it is too low. Turn the adjuster in the direction marked until the screen stays wherever you put it. It is a normal setup step, not a fault, and it needs redoing whenever you change screens.

Zgonic publishes a 10-year limited warranty on this arm against defects in materials and workmanship in normal use. Zgonic asks for claims by email to [email protected] with proof of purchase. Claims come to Chair Dinkum on 02 9640 0642 and we lodge and manage them. Full terms are on Zgonic's site and our warranty page, and your Australian Consumer Law rights apply in addition.

Yes — visit our Pyrmont showroom at 1/209 Harris Street to see what is on the floor, and we can put a screen on an arm so you can feel the movement before you commit to a floor's worth. Call 02 9640 0642 first so we can have the one you want set up.
