A high-quality monitor arm is the foundation of an ergonomic workstation. By allowing you to position your screen at the exact correct height, depth, and angle, a monitor arm prevents the neck strain, shoulder tension, and eye fatigue associated with static, low-sitting monitors. Whether you are using a single display, a dual-screen setup, or heavy ultra-wide monitors, our curated range ensures your workspace adapts to you, not the other way around.

At Chair Dinkum, we stock Australia's best selection of premium monitor arms from industry leaders like Colebrook Bosson Saunders (CBS), Humanscale, and Thinking Works. We focus on engineering, stability, and smooth dynamic adjustment. Our range includes options for every desk type, with clamp, through-desk, and slat-wall mounting solutions available.

    Choosing the Right Monitor Arm

For smooth, dynamic movement: The CBS Flo series uses patented geometric spring technology for fingertip adjustment, making it the global benchmark for single and dual monitor setups.

For heavy or ultra-wide screens: The CBS Ollin can handle monitors up to 9kg with ease, while the Humanscale M8.1 is engineered for heavy-duty applications up to 12.7kg.

For premium dual setups: The Humanscale M2.1 offers a sleek, counterbalance design that supports dual-monitor configurations with effortless height and depth adjustment, keeping your desk clean and clutter-free.

For Australian-designed innovation: Thinking Works is an Australian brand engineering smart, functional monitor arms. The Vader delivers robust gas-spring performance with integrated cable management, while the C.ME offers a versatile single-to-dual solution with a clean, minimal aesthetic. Both are designed and tested in Australia for Australian workplaces.

For robust value: Our Float series offers excellent dynamic adjustment and cable management at an accessible price point for both single and dual configurations.

    Frequently asked questions

Why do I need a monitor arm instead of the standard stand?

Standard monitor stands are rarely tall enough for proper ergonomics, forcing you to look down, which strains your neck and upper back. A dynamic monitor arm allows you to position the top of the screen at eye level and easily adjust the focal depth, encouraging a neutral, upright posture. It also frees up significant desk space beneath the monitor.

How do I know if my monitor is compatible?

Almost all modern monitors use the VESA mounting standard (either 75x75mm or 100x100mm square hole patterns on the back). All the monitor arms we sell are VESA compatible. You just need to ensure your monitor's weight (without its original stand) falls within the weight capacity of the arm you choose.

What is the difference between gas spring and mechanical spring arms?

Gas spring arms use compressed gas to balance the monitor weight, offering smooth adjustment but they can lose pressure over many years. Mechanical spring arms (like the CBS Flo series) use patented internal coil springs. They offer incredibly smooth 'fingertip' adjustment, are more environmentally friendly, and generally have a longer lifespan without degrading.

Can I mount a monitor arm on a glass desk?

We do not recommend using clamp mounts on tempered glass desks, as the concentrated pressure can cause the glass to shatter. For glass desks, you should look for specific mounting plates designed to distribute the load, or use a freestanding monitor mount instead.

How do I mount these to my desk?

Most of our monitor arms come with a standard desk clamp that attaches to the back edge of your desk. Many also include a 'through-desk' or grommet mount option, which allows you to bolt the arm through an existing cable hole for a cleaner look.
